Last night, we're all in the living room, watching the glorious return of the NFL. I've been a sports fan all my life, so I can't watch a game without picking a team to root for, even if I have no rooting interest in either of the teams. I was cheering for the Colts to not only win, but to win by more than six points (which they did, because Peyton Manning is a football god). Tarik is (somehow) a Colts and Steelers fan, and he likes Manning so he was cheering for the Colts last night.
Manny, however, refused to pick a team to root for.
Now, I understand that he's a 49ers fan (and therefore going to hell), but to pick a team to root for while watching a nationally televised game is not a case of sports bigamy. It's not like you have to cheer for them for the rest of your life, or even for the rest of the season. It's called "trying to have fun while watching a game".
He did eventually pick a team to root for, in his words "I usually root for the team thats losing." I don't even know what to say about that. Is he saying that he only cheers for losers? What if the team thats losing takes the lead, does that mean he automatically starts cheering for the other team? Is he just rooting for the comeback, and if so, why not just say that?
In between commercial breaks (after watching that stupid Peyton Manning commercial where he's in a hotel about to get sacked about 100 times), we switched over to HBO to watch the Justin Timberlake concert. At one point, Timberlake goes "Are you still with me New York?" and immediately, IMMEDIATELY, Manny says "Hey, where does this take place?"
Immediately.
