Summer Fridays

The Pacquiao-Barrera fight was last night, and joining Tarik, Manny, and I in the Philippines vs. Mexico classic was my friend Adan. Somehow, the conversation turned to Columbus Day, and Adan mentioned that it was good that he had Monday off because his job really sucks. I said that I didn't know whether I had the holiday off, because Columbus Day might be a Floating Holiday (we can take one floating holiday off per year) rather than a mandatory holiday (like Christmas, Fourth of July, etc). I wasn't sure, so I said that I'd just go into work and hope that no one was in so I could go home.

Suddenly, Manny stops "chewing" on his "pen" (as we know from last Tuesday, Manny likes to swallow "ink" that "explodes in his mouth") and asks me "Hey, I noticed that you're going into work on Fridays. What happened to your Summer Fridays? I thought that you got every other Friday off during the summer?"

It's October.
